Loving And Truthful Communication - Part 1
"As believers, we need to look to God’s Word because good communication is godly communication."

Why is loving and truthful communication so important in our role as church piano players?
A while ago, we looked at the importance of godly communication. We also looked at some communication killers that we really must try to avoid if we want to maintain good relationships.
As we look to and rely upon the sufficiency of Scripture, we see that God’s Word has many helpful and practical things to say about communication. As believers, we need to look to God’s Word because good communication is godly communication.
So, over the next few weeks, we're going to take a look at a couple of passages from Ephesians 4. From this, I'll be highlighting several truths that can greatly help us, as we seek to be church piano players who are both good at communicating and easy to communicate with.
There’s so much the Bible has to say about communication, but in this series, we’re going to focus on those aspects that relate to loving and truthful communication.
The first passage, then, is Ephesians 4:15-16. Just after the Apostle Paul encourages the believers at Ephesus to be equipped in the truth so they won’t be deceived, he says…
[Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV] 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Here we see a foundational principle of the Christian life, especially in the area of relationships - it is essential to speak the truth in love.
The first point here, then, is…
As Christians, we have a responsibility to communicate with love and truthfulness
It's important to remember that this is a responsibility all believers have, as shown clearly in these verses.
And next week, we'll be continuing to look at some points relating to loving and truthful communication.
