We can be encouraged, though, in remembering that church is not a place for only those people who have it all together. No way! Church is for saved sinners: those who come in the door needy for the means of grace (which is the blessing and strength we receive from worship, the preaching of God’s Word, prayer and other components of the church service).
As we make the time and effort to communicate well, our relationships will become stronger, the more people will know where they stand, and the less difficult situations we will find ourselves in. Also, we will gain the trust of others more; and that’s important, especially when you are serving others in a local church context.
As Christians, our communication is to be governed, shaped, molded, and influenced by biblical truth. You could also say our communication is to be shaped more by the Word than it is by the world.
